Configure custom mailtips

Having just discovered MailTips we are now using them on several mailboxes.  They offer real time information on the message they are composing and the recipient(s).  For example, we have just added a MailTip to our helpdesk mailbox advising users that somebody will respond within 2 hours.

Here is an example PowerShell command to set a custom mail-tip on a mailbox (HelpDesk is the name of the mailbox):

Set-Mailbox HelpDesk -MailTip “Somebody will respond to your query within 2 hours”

When a user begins to send a message to this mailbox in Outlook they will be see the message defined in the MailTip.

Note: MailTips require Outlook 2010 or later
