Exchange 2016 – installation fails because Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra installed installed

While installing Exchange 2016 onto a Windows 2016 server the readiness check failed with the following message:

The Windows component Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra isn’t installed on this computer and needs to be installed before Exchange Setup can begin.

I clicked the link provided for more information but the page has no content yet:

The error suggests that I do not have the Desktop Experience (GUI) installed but that is not the case.  After a bit of investigation I was able to complete a successful installation after downloading Exchange 2016 Cumulative Update 6.
