The start mode for the Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service must be set to Automatic before Setup can continue

During the pre-setup readiness checks I encountered the following error:

The start mode for the Net.TCP Port Sharing service must be set to automatic before Setup can continue

This was easily solved by changing the service startup type to automatic:

1. Open Administrative Tools –> Services

2. Locate the Net.TCP Sharing Service and edit the properties

3. Set the Startup type to Automatic and click OK

Now, after retrying the readiness checks, there are no errors.
